Honda Prelude Hybrid Sports Coupe is Heading to India

Japanese automaker, Honda has recently announced to launch 10 new cars, including 7 SUVs in the Indian market before the end of this decade. The company has also showcased the 0 Alpha electric SUV concept, which is confirmed for India launch in early 2027. The company is also considering some of its global products for our market as CBUs. 

A new media report claims that Honda could introduce the Prelude sports car to India sometime next year. The new model will be the brand’s flagship model and will come as a fully imported model. The new Honda Prelude could cost somewhere around Rs 50 lakh, and will be a new alternative to the Skoda Octavia RS. 

This 2-door coupe is based on the Accord sedan, and has sharp looks. There is a sharp front section that houses Honda badge in the centre, and sporty headlamp setup with integrated LED DRLs. It comes with flush-fitting door handles, an LED light bar at the rear, and 19-inch alloys. 

Inside the cabin, the Honda Prelude gets premium features and sporty styling elements. It comes with a flat-bottom steering with paddle shifters, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, a 10.2-inch digital driver’s display, an 8-speaker Bose sound system, LEVEL 2 ADAS and wireless phone charger. 

The new Honda Prelude is powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, Atkinson cycle direct-injection petrol engine paired with two electric motors. The hybrid powertrain offers a combined power and torque output of 197bhp and 315Nm, respectively. It is paired to Honda’s new S+ Shift system, and has four driving modes - Comfort, GT, Sport and Individual.
