Hyundai Ioniq 5 Facelift Nears India Launch - New Features Spotted

Ioniq 5 facelift launch soon New features and design tweaks Bigger battery option likely

Hyundai is getting closer to launching the updated Hyundai Ioniq 5 facelift in India.

The model has been spotted testing again with very little camouflage, suggesting that the final version is almost ready. With global markets already receiving the update, India launch is expected in the coming weeks.

Subtle Changes Outside

The facelift does not bring a major redesign but adds subtle improvements.

At the front, the SUV gets a revised bumper with a wider air intake and a new V-shaped styling element. The rear bumper has also been updated.

A longer rear spoiler, now extended by 50 mm, helps improve aerodynamics. New aero-style alloy wheels are also expected.

Overall dimensions remain mostly the same, keeping the familiar Ioniq 5 look intact.

Cabin Gets More Practical

Inside, Hyundai has focused on making the cabin easier to use.

One of the biggest changes is the addition of physical buttons on the centre console. This replaces some touch-based controls, making key functions quicker to access.

The wireless charging pad has been repositioned for better usability.

The facelift is also expected to feature Hyundai’s latest connected infotainment system with improved graphics, OTA updates, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

A new steering wheel design with pixel-style elements is also likely.

Improved Comfort and Safety

Hyundai has made updates to improve ride quality and refinement.

The facelift gets structural reinforcements and suspension tuning, which should reduce vibrations and improve stability.

Safety is also enhanced with better protection systems and updated driver assistance features.

Bigger Battery Option Expected

Globally, the updated Ioniq 5 gets a larger 84 kWh battery pack.

This offers a claimed range of up to 570 km (WLTP) in rear-wheel-drive form.

It is not yet confirmed if this bigger battery will be offered in India. The current India-spec model comes with a 72.6 kWh battery, producing 217 PS and 350 Nm.

Hyundai’s India Strategy

Hyundai is planning multiple launches in India across segments.

The Ioniq 5 facelift will be one of the key updates in its EV lineup, helping the brand stay competitive in the premium electric SUV space.
