The Korean automaker, Hyundai is getting aggressive with its product strategy for the Indian market. The company aims to launch 3 new sub-4 meter SUVs to regain its lost market share. All three compact SUVs will be launched in the next 1 year, before the end of 2026.
This year, Hyundai will launch the new-generation Venue compact SUV that has been caught testing multiple times on the Indian roads. The company will launch two all-new compact SUVs, including the Bayon and Inster in India in 2026. Let’s talk about these 3 upcoming Hyundai compact SUVs in detail -

Internally codenamed QU2i, the new-gen Hyundai Venue is likely to be launched in the country by October 2025. The new model will come with significant design and interior changes; however, mechanics will remain the same. The spy images confirm that the SUV will retain its boxy design, but body panels are new and has cleaner lines and less creases.
The cabin of the next-gen Hyundai Venue will come with major changes in the form of new high-end features and new dashboard layout. It is expected to come with a bigger connected screen incorporating a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display. Other features could include ventilated front and rear seats, sliding and reclining second-row seats, a panoramic sunroof and LEVEL 2 ADAS.
The next-gen Hyundai Venue is likely to be offered with three engine options - a 118bhp, 1.0L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol, an 82bhp, 1.2L, 4-cyliner naturally-aspirated petrol and a 99bhp, 1.5L, 4-cylinder turbo diesel. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed iMT, a 7-sped DCT and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.

Hyundai will launch a new crossover based on the i20 hatchback, which is already on sale in the European market. The Hyundai Bayon crossover will be launched in India in 2026. It will be positioned between the Exter and Venue in Hyundai India line-up. The Bayon will be a direct rival to the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, which will also receive a mid-life update in 2026.
While the global-spec Hyundai Bayon measures over 4.1 meters in length, the India-spec model will sit under 4 meters. The crossover comes with all-black interior scheme and shares features from other Hyundai models, including the Verna and Creta. It is likely to get a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, ADAS, a Bose sound system, ventilated front seats and others.
The Bayon crossover is likely to get a new 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine, which is under development. This engine will be positioned between the 1.0L 3-cylinder turbo and the 1.5L turbo petrol units. The company SUV could also get the 1.2L NA petrol and 1.0L turbo petrol engines.
Hyundai India will launch an all-new entry-level electric SUV based on the Inster EV on sale in global markets. It will be a direct rival to Tata Punch EV. The electric SUV will be locally produced at Hyundai’s Sriperumbudur factory. It measures 3,825mm in length, 1,610mm in width, and 1575mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,580mm.
The new Hyundai Inster EV will come with a 50/50 split seats for the second row with a slide and recline function, a freestanding touchscreen infotainment unit, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display and a 64-colour LED ambient lighting. The crossover will come with ADAS suite with features like forward-collision avoidance assist, lane assist, blind-spo view monitor, and others.
The global-spec model is available with two battery choices - 42kWh and 49kWh. Both models are offered with front-axle mounted electric motors. It is claimed to offer a range of up to 355km on a single charge.
