Mahindra XUV700 Electric, likely to be named the Mahindra XEV 7e, is shaping up to be one of the most-awaited electric SUVs in India. It is expected to offer a spacious cabin, strong performance and long driving range, making it a practical choice for families. Mahindra XUV700 electric launch is expected around late 2025, possibly in November.
With many buyers now deciding whether to wait for the EV instead of choosing the current XUV700, here are a few strong reasons why you should wait for the upcoming Mahindra XUV700 EV:
Unlike many EVs that are just converted from petrol models, the Mahindra XEV 7e is based on Mahindra’s born-electric INGLO platform. This allows better interior space, improved balance and handling, and enhanced safety. The structure is designed specifically for EV performance.

One of the strongest reasons to wait for the Mahindra XUV700 electric is the expected range. Mahindra is likely to offer two battery pack options, with real-world range estimated at around 400 km to 500 km. This makes it suitable for both daily commuting and long-distance travel. Fast-charging support will reduce charging time during highway trips.
Most electric SUVs sold in India today are five-seaters. Mahindra XUV700 EV is expected to be available in both 6-seat and 7-seat layouts. For families who want to shift to electric without compromising space, this makes the XEV 7e a very practical choice.
Inside, the Mahindra XEV 7e is expected to feature a clean and premium cabin. A multiple-screen layout, illuminated steering wheel logo, connected car features, wireless phone charging, a panoramic sunroof, and a high-quality sound system are expected. The focus is on comfort and convenience.
Mahindra XUV700 EV is expected to offer Level-2 ADAS features similar to the current XUV700. Safety features such as 6 airbags, stability control, hill assist, electronic parking brake, and 360-degree camera systems are also expected. The SUV is likely to target a 5-star safety rating.
Mahindra XUV700 electric launch is expected at a starting price of around Rs 20 lakh. For an electric SUV offering three-row seating, long range, and advanced features, this pricing could make it one of the strongest options in its segment.
