Mahindra to Launch 3 New SUVs by Early 2027

Mahindra has three new SUVs on the way. Scorpio N and Thar facelifts are coming soon. A brand-new Vision.S SUV will follow in 2027.

Mahindra is preparing for another busy phase in the Indian SUV market. While the company has introduced several electric models over the past year, its next three launches will all be petrol and diesel SUVs.

The upcoming lineup includes the Scorpio N facelift, the updated three-door Thar and a brand-new compact SUV based on the Vision.S concept. Here's everything we know so far.

Mahindra Scorpio N Facelift

The Scorpio N facelift is expected to arrive first. The SUV has already been spotted testing multiple times, and the spy shots have revealed several expected changes.

On the outside, the updated Scorpio N is likely to get a redesigned front grille, a revised bumper, new lower grille, updated LED headlamp graphics, fresh 18-inch alloy wheels, revised tail lamps and a tweaked rear bumper. While the overall design will remain familiar, these updates should give the SUV a fresher look.

The cabin is expected to receive bigger changes. Mahindra could introduce a redesigned dashboard with horizontally placed AC vents, a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a new 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster. More premium features are also expected, but the existing petrol and diesel engine options are likely to continue without any mechanical changes.

Mahindra Thar Facelift

The three-door Thar is also expected to receive its first major update soon after the Scorpio N.

Recent spy shots suggest the SUV will borrow several styling cues from the Thar Roxx. It could feature a new front grille, updated LED headlamps with C-shaped daytime running lights and a fresh set of alloy wheels.

Inside, Mahindra is expected to add features like electrically folding ORVMs, passive keyless entry, ventilated front seats and an auto-dimming inside rearview mirror. The engine and gearbox options are expected to remain the same.

All-New Vision.S-Based SUV

The third launch is expected to be the production version of the Vision.S concept, which could arrive in early 2027.

This new SUV will be positioned between the XUV 3XO and the Thar. Although it will be based on a monocoque platform, Mahindra will give it a rugged SUV design with a boxy shape and high ground clearance.

The interior is expected to focus on comfort as well as practicality. Buyers can expect features like a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, a wireless phone charger and a modern dashboard layout with vertical AC vents.

The SUV will be built on Mahindra's new NU_IQ platform, which supports petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric powertrains. However, at launch, it is expected to be offered with a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine.
