Mahindra & Mahindra, India’s largest UV maker, has just given the XUV400 EV an update. The electric SUV gets multiple new features on the top EL variant. We take a closer look.
The XUV400’s top EL trim now receives features like auto cruise control, fog lights, an updated 4-speaker audio setup with tweeters, a tyre pressure monitoring system, fog lights, a hill hold assist, an electronic stability program, and a boot lamp.
Additionally, the latest reports suggest that Mahindra is planning to update the XUV400 with a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit that offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. However, this feature will arrive in 2024 when the EV receives a mid-life facelift.
Mechanically, the XUV400 remains unchanged. It is powered by a single electric motor that pumps out 150 bhp with 310 Nm of max torque. The motor is paired with a 39.4 kWh battery pack that has an MIDC-claimed range of 456 km in the top EL variant. The lower EC trim gets a 34.5 kWh battery pack with a claimed range of 375 km.
The aforementioned added features mean the XUV400 has received a mild price hike of around Rs 20,000 to Rs 50,000. Expect the new range to start from around Rs 16 lakh and extend up to Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).
