Maruti Baleno Facelift Launched - New Engine, CNG-AMT, Features, Price

Maruti Suzuki has launched the Baleno facelift in India at a starting price of Rs 6.10 lakh, ex-showroom. The updated hatchback gets small design changes, new features and a new petrol engine. The biggest update is the addition of a factory-fitted CNG option with an AMT gearbox. The Baleno continues to compete with the Tata Altroz and Hyundai i20. With more engine and gearbox choices, Maruti Suzuki is now offering buyers more options to choose from.
Maruti Baleno Gets a New Engine
The biggest change on the new Baleno is the engine. Maruti Suzuki has replaced the old engine with its 1.2-litre Z Series three-cylinder petrol engine. This is the same engine that is also offered with the Swift and Dzire. The new engine comes with a five-speed manual gearbox and an AMT option. The CNG version is also available with an AMT gearbox. This is one of the biggest highlights of the updated Baleno. The CNG-AMT setup gives buyers the option to choose a car with lower running costs without having to drive a manual gearbox.

Small Design Changes
The Baleno facelift does not get a major design change. Instead, Maruti Suzuki has made a few small updates to the exterior. The front gets a larger grille with black horizontal slats, while the headlamp design remains the same. The bumpers have also been updated, along with the fog lamp housings. The car now gets new 16-inch alloy wheels and a shark-fin antenna. The overall shape of the Baleno remains unchanged, and it continues to measure 3,990mm in length.
More Features Added
Maruti Suzuki has also added new features to the Baleno facelift. These updates are aimed at making the hatchback more attractive to buyers, especially as rivals in the segment continue to get more features. The cabin remains spacious and practical, while the new equipment adds to the overall package. The exact features available on each variant will depend on the trim level.
CNG-AMT Is the Big Highlight
The new Baleno offers more choices than before. Buyers can now choose between petrol and CNG, along with manual and AMT gearboxes. The CNG-AMT option is the biggest addition to the range. It is aimed at buyers who want the lower running cost of CNG but also prefer the ease of an automatic gearbox. The Tata Altroz also offers a CNG-AMT option, making it one of the closest rivals to the new Baleno in this area.
Maruti Baleno Facelift Price
The Maruti Baleno facelift starts at Rs 6.10 lakh, ex-showroom. It continues to take on the Tata Altroz and Hyundai i20 in the premium hatchback segment.
