Maruti Suzuki is currently selling ICE-powered models including hybrids and CNG in India. However, the brand is now balancing out its game by planning to launch a range of EVs as well as low-cost hybrid vehicles in the market. In coming years, Maruti will launch three electric vehicles which will include a SUV, a hatchback, and an MPV. While the electric SUV will launch in early 2025, the other two are scheduled to be launched in the next 2-3 years.
Let's have an overview of the upcoming Maruti Electric Cars:

Maruti's first fully electric car to arrive in the Indian market will be the eVX. Expected to launch in early 2025, the electric SUV will be based on the new Skateboard platform. It will come equipped with a 60 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, offering a range of over 550 km on a single charge. Inside, it will come with high-end features such as a SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment unit, wireless charging, automatic climate control, ventilated seats, and more.

Another Maruti electric car to launch in the country would be based on the eWX concept, which was showcased at the 2023 Tokyo Motor Show. The electric hatchback will be the brand's entry-level EV in India. A few months ago, the brand filed a design patent for the same. Visually, it will be a tall-boy hatchback and could be the electric derivative of the WagonR. The battery details are yet to be revealed. However, the vehicle is likely to offer a claimed range of over 230 km, the same as the Comet EV. It is even expected to be priced under Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). Expect it to be launched by mid-2026 or early 2027.

Last but not least, Maruti is working on its electric MPV which is internally codenamed YMC. It can arrive anytime in the country by 2026. It will be based on the same electric Skateboard platform as the eVX electric SUV. It is said that the upcoming Maruti electric MPV will be sold in India and exported to multiple international markets.
