JSW MG Motor India has introduced a new fleet-only ‘Commute’ variant of the Windsor EV at Rs 13.49 lakh, ex-showroom. The company is also offering BaaS rental option with the new variant, which will make it significantly cheaper for the fleet operators. This new Commute variant is around Rs 61,000 cheaper than the Excite base variant.

Battery Pack and Range

The MG Windsor Commute variant is packed with a 38kWh battery pack with a front-axle-mounted electric motor. It is claimed to offer an ARAI-certified range of 332km on a single charge. Using a 7.4kW AC charger, the battery can achieve 10-100 percent charging status in 7 hours. It also supports a 45kW DC charger, which charges the battery from 20-80 per cent in 45 minutes.

Key Details

The Commute variant continues to offer LED projector headlights, turn indicators on the ORVM, flush-fitting door handles and 7-inch LCD instrument console. However, it misses out on alloy wheels, and a central 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment unit. The Windsor Commute gets 17-inch steel wheels, black interior scheme, fabric upholstery for seats, and a basic infotainment unit with USB, FM and Bluetooth support.

It gets manual air-conditioning, cruise control, manually adjustable ORVMs, tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, power windows, and reclining rear seats. For safety and security, the electric vehicle gets 2 airbags, all-4 disc brakes, hill hold assist, a tyre pressure monitoring system and three-point seatbelt.
