It is no secret that Honda is preparing the next-gen Amaze sub-4 meter sedan that has recently been caught testing on the Indian roads. Similarly, Maruti Suzuki is set to introduce the new-gen Dzire sub-4 meter sedan. Both models were earlier planned to be launched before Diwali, festive season 2024.
The launch of both compact sedans, the new Amaze and Dzire, are now pushed to a new date. It is expected that the new-gen Honda Amaze and Maruti Dzire will be launched in our market early next year. We believe that both brands will aim to introduce the new-generations of these two highly popular sub-4 meter sedans in the country at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show.
The new-gen Dzire will have unique styling that's significantly different from the newly launched Swift hatchback. It features a sharper front fascia with a flatter nose, a larger blacked-out horizontally-slatted grille and newly styled headlamp unit. The LED headlamps are slimmer, while the sporty front bumper houses new fog lamp housing. The sedan has body-coloured ORVMs with integrated blinkers, and new alloy wheels.
The rear profile has new large wraparound LED tail-lights and a newly styled tailgate. The tailgate now has more angular creases with boot space likely to be similar in size as the predecessor. It is confirmed that the new Maruti Dzire will offer a factory-fitted single-pane sunroof. The cabin will have similarities with the new Swift; however, it will have a lighter colour scheme compared to all-black in the hatchback.
The sedan will get a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless connectivity, an automatic AC, a semi-digital instrument console with a 4.2-inch digital MID, etc. For safety and security, it could get a 360-degree surround view camera. 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, rear parking sensors, and 3-point seatbelt.
Powering the new Maruti Dzire is a new 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder Z Series petrol engine that produces 82bhp and 112Nm of torque. Similar to the Swift, the new Maruti Dzire will also receive a CNG variant. In the CNG mode, the power and torque output drops to 69hp and 102Nm of torque. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual and an AMT unit.
The third-gen Honda Amaze will receive significant changes in terms of interior and underpinnings. It will be based on the City sedan's platform, which will be modified to accommodate a sub-4 meter car. The spy images reveal that the new Amaze will retain the overall shape of the current and will be inspired by the larger Honda sedans on sale in international markets.
The next-gen Honda Amaze gets the smokey-finished tail-lamps, a reverse camera, a shark fin antenna, and 3 fixed headrests for the rear passengers. It is likely to share the cabin layout and features with the new Elevate SUV. The sedan could receive a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, a semi-digital instrument console, climate control, Lane watch assist and others. It is likely to get Camera-based ADAS and a factory-fitted electric sunroof.
It is expected to be powered by a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine that is good for 90hp and 110Nm of torque. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic.
