The Korean automaker, Hyundai is working on multiple new cars including the Creta EV and the Alcazar facelift. A new media report claims that the new generation Hyundai Venue is currently under development. It will be launched in the country by late 2025.
First launched in 2019, the Venue compact SUV has been one of the top-selling models in its category. The company had introduced a mid-life facelift of the SUV in June 2022. The next-gen Hyundai Venue will be the first model to be manufactured at Hyundai's new Talegaon factory. Hyundai had acquired this factory from General Motors in 2023.
Codenamed the QU2i, the new Hyundai Venue is reportedly to enter production-line in October 2025. However, Hyundai is yet to make an official announcement on the same. It is likely to be based on the existing platform. The new model will come with an all-new styling, which will be inspired from newer Hyundai SUVs like the Creta and the Alcazar facelift. We expect it to get more comfort and convenience features.
The new Hyundai Venue sub-4 meter SUV is likely to retain the existing powertrain options. More importantly, the small SUV will continue to be offered with a diesel powertrain. The existing model is offered with 3 engine options - a 1.2-litre, NA petrol, a 1.0L 3-cylinder turbo petrol and a 1.5L turbo diesel.
Not just the new Venue, Hyundai is also working on the next-generation Grand i10 Nios. The new model is likely to be launched by 2027. Adding to it, Hyundai is also preparing a new crossover SUV based on the i20 hatchback. It is most likely to be the Indianized version of the Hyundai Bayon crossover on sale in European markets. This crossover will directly rival the Maruti Suzuki Fronx.
