Maruti Suzuki is gearing up for a busy product cycle over the next two to three years as it prepares a wide range of hybrid and electric vehicles for the Indian market. The brand wants to strengthen its hold on the mass segment by developing compact models across different body styles, starting with the hybridised version of the Fronx crossover.

The updated Fronx is expected to arrive with ADAS and a mild-hybrid system similar to the one sold overseas. Over time, this setup may be replaced by Maruti Suzuki’s own strong-hybrid technology, making the model more efficient and feature-rich.
Maruti is simultaneously working on an all-new small car aimed at reviving the first-time buyer segment. The hatchback is rumoured to be offered with multiple fuel options, including CNG, flex-fuel, and even hybrid powertrains, giving buyers a wide range of choices at the entry level.
Another model in the pipeline is a compact MPV positioned below the Ertiga. It could take inspiration from the Suzuki Spacia sold overseas with its upright and space-efficient proportions. A strong-hybrid petrol engine is expected, allowing it to compete with the Renault Triber and the upcoming sub-4m MPV from Nissan.

Maruti is also developing a micro SUV that could enter the market by 2026 or 2027. It will likely be positioned as a direct rival to the Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter, and hybrid technology is expected to play a major role in its appeal. For hatchback buyers wanting a tougher-looking alternative, this model could become an interesting option.
On the electric side, Maruti Suzuki is working on a compact EV inspired by the eWX concept. The production model is expected to retain the tall, boxy, and practical design that maximises interior space, staying true to the concept’s focus on usability.
At the premium end, the next-generation Baleno is speculated to launch around 2027. It is expected to feature a new design language, a more upmarket cabin, and a much more advanced hybrid powertrain. Early information hints at a range-extender style system capable of delivering more than 30 kmpl, making it one of the most efficient cars in its class.
