British carmaker Land Rover has silently launched a new Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) in the Range Rover lineup. Before this, the Range Rover was offered with mild-hybrid drivetrains. The latest introduction will ensure that the plug-in hybrid option will provide better fuel efficiency. The SUV is offered in both standard and long-wheelbase versions and is available in five trim levels namely SE, HSE, Autobiography, First Edition, and SV.
While the standard-wheelbase PHEV is offered in 440PS and 510PS variants, the long-wheelbase trims come only with the 440PS powertrain option. In addition, the PHEV is also available in the SV guise but only the standard-wheelbase version.
The Range Rover PHEV utilises the smaller 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder petrol engine paired to an electric motor and a 38.2 kWh battery pack. Together the combined output in two different states of tune stands at 434 bhp and 503 bhp. Besides, the SUV has a range of over 100 kms in pure electric mode.
The Range Rover PHEV has a classic SUV design language with a muscular bonnet, sleek matrix LED headlights with integrated DRLs, a large chrome-finished grille, and a wide air dam. The model is flanked on the sides by ORVMs, flared wheels arches, flush-fitted door handles, and fancy alloy wheels. Towards the rear, the Range Rover PHEV has blacked-out vertical LED taillights and dual shark fin antennas.
On the inside, the SUV has a luxurious cabin with a dual-tone dashboard, a panoramic sunroof, premium upholstery, ambient lighting, a multifunctional steering wheel, and multi-zone climate control with air purifier. The new Range Rover has a 35-speaker Meridian Signature sound system and a 13.1-inch PIvi Pro infotainment panel with connectivity options. Moreover, the model has ADAS functionality to ensure the safety of its passengers.
