Renault Bridger Reveal Tomorrow - Launch in 2027, Multiple Engines

The much-anticipated Renault Bridger SUV Concept is all set to make global debut tomorrow. This will be the brand’s new model to sit under 4 meter in length. Renault has confirmed that the new Bridger based SUV will be designed and developed in India for domestic as well as international markets. 

Renault Bridger Launch Timeline

If media reports are to be believed, the new Renault Bridger compact SUV will go on sale in the country by festive season, Diwali 2027. The company aims to sell about 80,000 to 90,000 units of the new SUV in the sub-4 meter SUV space. 

Multi-Powertrain Strategy

Internally codenamed RB3-K2 B-SUV, the new Bridger is likely to be offered with multiple powertrains including petrol, hybrid, CNG and electric. The report reveals that the compact SUV is expected to receive a new 1.2-litre, naturally-aspirated petrol engine along with a turbocharged petrol engine and a hybrid powertrain. The electric version is expected to be offered with two battery options - 35kWh and 55kWh. 

The SUV is also likely to receive a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that produces 99bhp and 160Nm of torque. Transmission choices could include a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic. It is expected that the SUV could be offered with FWD setup as standard, and a 4WD version could also join the line-up. 

The new model is likely to be based on Renault’s new modular R-GMP architecture, which is heavily localised for the Indian market. It will be manufactured at the company’s Chennai-based manufacturing facility. The new Bridger based compact SUV will be positioned between the Kiger and new Renault Duster. 

The upcoming ‘urban SUV’ will carry a boxy profile with a flatter body and smooth surfaces. The teaser confirms that the SUV will have a tailgate mounted spare wheel, and an illuminated Renault lettering.
