2026 Renault Kwid starts at Rs 4.53 lakh. New Evolution and Climber variants introduced. Renault announces 12 product updates in 18 months.
Renault India has launched the 2026 Kwid with a starting price of Rs 4.53 lakh (ex-showroom). While this is not a full-generation update, the hatchback gets a few design changes, a revised variant lineup and some price revisions.
The company has also confirmed an aggressive product strategy for India, with 12 product updates planned over the next 18 months.
Renault has simplified the Kwid range. The hatchback is now available in just two variants - Evolution and Climber. Both are offered with 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox options.
The earlier Authentic and Techno variants have been discontinued.
The updated prices are:
Evolution MT: Rs 4.53 lakh
Evolution AMT: Rs 4.90 lakh
Climber MT: Rs 5.15 lakh
Climber AMT: Rs 5.61 lakh
(All prices are ex-showroom)
Buyers can also opt for a dealer-fitted CNG kit for the manual variants at an additional cost of Rs 70,450. It comes with a 3-year/1 lakh km warranty.

The 2026 Kwid looks largely the same as before but gets a few cosmetic changes.
The biggest update is the new 3D Renault logo at the front and rear. It also gets redesigned dual-tone wheel covers for the 14-inch steel wheels and a new silver finish for the Kwid badge on the tailgate.
Apart from these changes, the LED DRLs, halogen headlamps, bumpers and tail lamps remain unchanged.
The dimensions also stay the same, with 184mm ground clearance and 279 litres of boot space.
Inside, the changes are limited. The Kwid now gets a new three-spoke steering wheel borrowed from the Renault Kiger. It also comes with audio controls mounted on the steering wheel.
The rest of the cabin remains familiar. It continues to offer an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a semi-digital instrument cluster, manual AC and power windows.
The safety package depends on the variant. The Evolution variant comes with dual airbags, while the top-spec Climber now offers six airbags.
Other features include a rear parking camera with sensors, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), ABS with EBD, seat belt reminders, keyless entry and hill start assist on AMT variants.
Mechanically, nothing has changed. The 2026 Renault Kwid continues with the 1.0-litre, three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 69hp and 92.5Nm of torque. It is available with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox.
The Kwid continues to compete with the Maruti Alto K10 and Maruti S-Presso in the entry-level hatchback segment.
