Tata cars to get expensive by an average of 0.5 percent from April 1, 2026 Price revision will varry across models and variants
Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd has announced that it will increase prices of its ICE-powered passenger vehicle portfolio by an average of 0.5 per cent from April 1, 2026. The price revision will vary across models and variants. Not just passenger vehicles, Tata Motors has also increased the prices of its commercial vehicle range by up to 1.5 percent.
Tata Motors has said that the prices of the passenger vehicles are increased to “partially offset the continued increase in input costs.” Not just Tata Motors, multiple automakers such as Mercedes-Benz, Audi and BMW are also increasing their car prices by up to 2 per cent from April 1, 2026. Automakers are adjusting prices in response to sustained cost pressures, including higher raw-material and logistics costs.
Audi India stated that it will be increasing the prices of its cars and SUVs to offset the rising logistics and material costs. Depreciating Rupee value is another factor that has necessitated this. Similarly, Mercedes-Benz has also announced its second price hike in 2026, which will be effective from April 1. The prices will be hiked by around 2 percent across its range.
