Tata Motors has already kickstarted 2024 with a bang by launching its fourth electric model, Tata Punch.ev. Now, the spotlight is on the upcoming Tata Harrier EV. A design patent image has surfaced online revealing that the upcoming electric vehicle could launch by March 2024.
Check out what we can expect from the upcoming Tata Harrier EV:
As per the design patent image, the Harrier EV will feature significant upgrades in comparison to its ICE version. For example, the front end will be futuristic providing a closed grille with horizontal slats. For better air circulation and cooling of the battery, there will be another grille placed inside with vertical slats.
Further, it will have a modern triangle-shaped headlight design unlike the ones seen on the current model. On top of these lights, there will be slim LED DRLs to make the SUV look even more stylish.
Inside the EV aims to give you a fancy experience with lots of high-tech features. It will have a two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo, like the one in the updated Harrier. Other notable equipment will include a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, touch-based HVAC controls, automatic climate control, ambient lighting, ADAS suite, and more.
The Harrier EV will be built on Tata Motors’ Gen II EV architecture. This electric SUV will have multiple battery options, ranging from 60 kWh to 80 kWh. Its range could go up to 500 kms on a single full charge. Rest of details are yet to be revealed.
As far as the price is concerned, it is expected to start at around Rs 35 lakh (ex-showroom). The company plans to release this electric SUV in 2024, competing directly with the likes of Mahindra's XU800 electric SUV, which is also expected to come out in the same year.
