Tata Sierra launch by October 2025 EV, petrol and diesel versions will be launched It will rival the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Maruti Grand Vitara The SUV is likely to debut new 1.5L naturally-aspirated & turbo petrol engines
The long-awaited Tata Sierra lifestyle SUV is all set to go on sale before the end of this financial year. The new model will be offered with both ICE and EV powertrains. In fact, the new Sierra has been spotted testing numerous times on the Indian roads. The latest spy shots show Sierra in production avatar, revealing its strong road presence.
Tata Motors has recently showcased the new Sierra lifestyle SUV to its dealer network across India. The electric version of the SUV will arrive first in our market by festive season, before Diwali. Its ICE version is expected to be launched before the end of this year or early next year.

The Tata Sierra will measure around 4.3-4.4 meters in length, making it a direct rival to the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Maruti Grand Vitara. However, the SUV carries boxy design with rugged design elements. It looks significantly bigger than the competition, thanks to its flat nose, rugged bumper, boxy silhouette and relatively flat rear profile.
It is reported that the Tata Sierra will mark the debut of brand’s new 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine. This engine will power the lower variants of the Sierra, which will help Tata Motors to achieve competitive pricing. The higher-spec variants will be powered by a new 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine, which will also power the Harrier and Safari. This engine is capable of producing 170hp and 280Nm of torque.
The diesel version of the Sierra could get the 2.0-litre unit that offers 170hp and 350Nm of torque. Tata could offer the lower-spec Sierra with the 1.5L turbo diesel engine that powers the Nexon and Curvv.
The electric version is likely to share the 65kWh and 75kWh LFP batteries with the new Tata Harrier EV. The 65kWh battery is paired with a single rear-axle mounted electric motor, while the 75kWh battery version is offered with both RWD and dual-motor AWD set-up. The Sierra EV is likely to offer a realistic range of up to 500km.
It is confirmed that the Tata Sierra lifestyle SUV will come with a triple screen layout comprising infotainment unit, digital driver’s display and a co-passenger’s entertainment screen. In terms of features, the SUV will have multi-colour ambient lighting, powered front seats with ventilation, panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charger, premium JBL sound system with Dolby Atmos, HUD and Built-in dashcam.
It is expected that the new Sierra could get a 540-degree surround view camera, which is offered on the Harrier EV. For safety and security, the SUV gets multiple airbags, ESC (Electronic Stability Control), tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), ABS with EBD, and multiple drive modes and terrain modes. It will also come with LEVEL 2 ADAS tech.
