The much-anticipated Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line has finally been launched at Rs 49 lakh, ex-showroom, in the Indian market. Launched as a CBU model, the new Tiguan R-Line is the performance oriented SUV for enthusiasts in India. The new SUV is positioned against the likes of the Mercedes-Benz GLA, BMW X1 and the Audi Q3.
The Tiguan R-Line has a sporty front fascia, featuring an aggressive bumper that houses a large airdam with diamond shaped elements and a chrome strip that runs across the width. It comes with twin-pod LED headlights with connected LED DRL strip. There is a gloss black trim that houses 'R' badge and the VW logo.
The side profile has dual-tone 19-inch alloy wheels, flared wheel arches with a gloss black cladding, body coloured wing mirrors and door handles, and silver roof rails. At the back, the Tiguan R-Line gets connected LED tail-lights, a roof-mounted spoiler and a rear wiper. The lower bumper has a gloss black finish with diamond-shaped elements and a chrome strip running across the width.
It comes with an all-black cabin with contrasting blue treatment, a fully digital 10.25-inch driver's display, ambient lighting and a 15-inch touchscreen infotainment unit and Head-up display. Other key features include an 8-speaker sound system, front seats with massage function, ventilation and lumbar support, a 3-zone climate control, and dual wireless phone chargers.
For safety and security, the new VW Tiguan R-Line gets 9 airbags, LEVEL 2 ADAS tech, an electronic parking brake, disc brakes for all four wheels, front and rear parking sensors, ESP and others. The SUV also has dynamic chassis control (DCC), which allows customers to adjust the stiffness of the dampers based on the road surface.
The new VW Tiguan R-Line is powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that is capable of producing 201bhp of maximum power and 320Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to all 4 wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT).
