Maruti Suzuki sells 17 car models in the country in multiple body styles, including hatchbacks, sedans, SUVs and MPVs. Maruti has entirely stopped manufacturing diesel cars and sells petrol, hybrid and CNG powertrains now.
The Maruti Alto is the brand’s cheapest car and is available at a starting price of Rs. 4.23 lakh and extends up to Rs 6.21 lakh. The brand’s most expensive model is the Maruti Suzuki INVICTO, priced between Rs. 25.51 lakh and Rs 29.22 lakh.
The Maruti Suzuki SUV line-up includes Fronx, Grand Vitara, Brezza and Jimmy. The Fronx is Maruti’s smallest SUV, which is sold through the NEXA dealership network. On the other hand, the Brezza is the best-selling SUV in India and is available through the ARENA dealership network. For off-road lovers, MSIL is selling the Jimny 5-door through NEXA dealerships. Adding to it, the Grand Vitara comes as a premium offering in the mid-sized SUV category.
In the hatchback category, Maruti Suzuki sells the Alto K10, S-Presso, Wagon R, Baleno, Ignis and Swift in the country. The Alto K10 is the cheapest model in Maruti’s line-up, while the S-Presso and Ignis come as a value-for-money offering. The Wagon R and the Swift are the brand’s best-selling hatchbacks, while Baleno comes as a premium offering sold through the NEXA dealership network.
Maruti Suzuki is currently selling two sedans, namely, Maruti Dzire and Maruti Ciaz. The Dzire is sold through Maruti’s ARENA dealership network, while the Ciaz mid-sized sedan retails via NEXA premium dealerships.
The Maruti Dzire has been the highest-selling sedan since its arrival in our market in 2008. This subcompact sedan is based on the Suzuki HEARTECT platform that also underpins the Swift hatchback. It is available with a 1.2L 3-cylinder, NA petrol engine along with a CNG fuel option.
The Indo-Japanese brand is selling 3 multi-purpose vehicles or MPVs in the Indian market. The Ertiga is sold through the ARENA dealership network, while the XL6 and Invicto are retailed via Maruti’s NEXA premium dealership network.
The Ertiga has been the best-selling MPV in the Indian market for years. This model comes at an affordable price and offers a spacious cabin for 7 adults, and high fuel efficiency. It is available with CNG and petrol engine options, the former being the first choice among fleet operators. Adding to it, the MPV also has a Tour version for fleet operators. Customers can also opt for the Suzuki XL6, as it is a 6-seater version of the Ertiga. This model offers a spacious cabin, SUV-like looks and more features compared to its 7-seater sibling.
The Maruti Suzuki Invicto is basically the re-badged version of the Toyota Innova Hycross. This flagship model offers a luxurious cabin, advanced features and a strong hybrid engine.
Maruti Suzuki currently has no electric cars in its portfolio. However, the Japanese brand is developing multiple new EVs for the Indian market. The Suzuki e Vitara is scheduled to be launched before the end of this year.
Maruti Suzuki is preparing multiple new models, including the new-generations and facelifts of existing models. The company will launch an all-new electric SUV, called the Suzuki e Vitara. Adding to it, MSIL will launch the Fronx facelift, a new Escudo mid-sized SUV and a new compact MPV based on the Suzuki Spacia. Maruti Suzuki is also developing a new affordable hybrid engine to power its mass-market cars, including Fronx, Brezza, Baleno and others.
Maruti Suzuki is India’s largest car manufacturer and was established in 1981. It was founded by Sanjay Gandhi back then and is currently headed by RC Bhargava, who is the company’s Chairman. CV Raman is the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Maruti.
Maruti Suzuki has two manufacturing plants in Haryana - Gurugram and Manesar. There is a new unit upcoming in Kharkhoda as well.
