Tata Motors has increased production of the Tata Sierra SUV to meet the rising demand. The SUV has already received over 1 lakh bookings and commands a waiting period of around 6-7 months. Tata says that the production ramp-up will help faster deliveries in the coming months, which will also reduce the waiting periods for customers.
Over 14,000 units of the Tata Sierra has already been delivered since dispatches began in mid-January 2026. Tata Motors is expanding output MoM while coordinating closely with suppliers to ensure component availability and consistent production flow.
Tata Motors has confirmed that the customers with confirmed bookings will receive periodic updates on their delivery timelines. The new Sierra was launched in November last year. It received an overwhelming response from buyers with 70K vehicles were booked within 24 hours on the opening of bookings on December 16.
The new Tata Sierra is available in 5 trim levels - Smart+, Pure, Pure+, Adventure, and Adventure+ - in both petrol and diesel avatars. It is available in the price bracket of Rs 11.49 lakh to Rs 21.29 lakh, ex-showroom.
The SUV is offered with 3 engine options - a 104bhp, 1.5L NA petrol, a 158bhp, 1.5L turbo petrol and a 116bhp, 1.5L turbo diesel. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual as standard, a 7-speed DCA with 1.5L NA and a 6-speed torque converter automatic unit.
In terms of proportions, the new Tata Sierra is 4340mm in length, 1841mm in width and 1715mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2730mm. The SUV offers a boot space of 622-litres to the roof (450-litres to the parcel shelf), which can be further extended up to 1257-litres by folding the second-row seats.
