Mahindra has officially launched the 2025 Thar Facelift in India, bringing exciting updates to one of the country’s most beloved off-road SUVs. Starting at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the facelifted model comes with updated exterior design elements, improved interiors, and new features.
Here's everything you need to know about the 2025 Mahindra Thar Facelift.
The new Thar Facelift offers a more affordable entry point compared to the outgoing model, with prices starting at Rs 9.99 lakh. This is Rs 32,000 lower than the previous model's starting price.
For the variant-wise pricing, the Thar Facelift offers a range of options to suit different preferences. The AXT RWD variant with a 1.5-litre diesel engine is priced at Rs 9.99 lakh, while the LXT RWD variant with a 2.0-litre petrol engine is available for Rs 12.99 lakh. The automatic LXT RWD variant with a 2.2-litre diesel engine comes in at Rs 13.99 lakh.
The LXT 4WD variants offer the 2.0-litre petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engine options, priced at Rs 14.69 lakh and Rs 15.49 lakh, respectively. The top-end LXT 4WD AT with a 2.2-litre diesel engine is priced at Rs 16.99 lakh. Compared to the previous model, the top variant’s price is Rs 38,000 higher, while the entry-level model is more affordable.

The exterior of the 2025 Mahindra Thar Facelift gets some notable changes. The most prominent update is the body-coloured grille, which gives the SUV a more modern and refined look. In addition, the Thar facelift now features a dual-tone front bumper.

Mahindra has also introduced two new exterior colour options - Tango Red, which replaces the previous red, and Battleship Grey, giving the Thar a fresher, more contemporary feel. Despite these changes, the overall look of the Thar remains familiar, retaining the signature headlights, tail-lights, and 18-inch alloy wheels that off-road lovers.
Inside, the 2025 Thar Facelift has undergone several changes. The cabin now features a new black dashboard theme, which provides a more premium feel. The steering wheel has also been redesigned, offering better ergonomics and a more refined driving experience.
Rear passengers will benefit from the addition of rear AC vents, ensuring better cabin cooling during long journeys. The power window switches have been moved to the doors for more ergonomic access, and both the driver and front passenger get individual centre armrests with storage space. A fuel-lid opener button has been added near the steering, making it easier to access the fuel tank.

The 2025 Thar Facelift comes packed with new features. A major highlight is the new 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, which comes with an updated off-road suite, providing vital information to the driver during off-road adventures.
In terms of safety, Mahindra has added a rear camera and rear wiper with washer, improving visibility when reversing. These updates, along with the new infotainment system, make the 2025 Mahindra Thar facelift an even more appealing option for both city driving and off-road expeditions.
The 2025 Mahindra Thar Facelift continues to offer the same robust engine options as before. The 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine produces 152hp, while the 1.5-litre diesel engine offers 119hp, and the 2.2-litre diesel engine delivers 132hp. These engines are paired with manual and automatic gearbox options.
The 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine is available with optional 4WD, while the 2.2-litre diesel engine comes with standard 4WD, making it ideal for off-road enthusiasts. The same reliable engine and gearbox combinations continue to provide power and performance on various terrains.
