We informed you earlier that Renault will launch the new-gen Duster and a new 7-seater SUV in India in the first half of 2026. Production of the third-generation Duster is reportedly to commence by Sept-Oct 2025, while launch is planned in the first quarter of 2026. While the 5-seater SUV has already been caught testing, the 7-seater Renault Duster has been spied for the first time in India.
Posted by driftxp_, the new spy video reveals a fully camouflaged SUV that has the temporary registration plates from Tamil Nadu state. For people not in the know, the Renault Boreal, the 7-seater Duster is scheduled to make global debut on 10th July 2025. The SUV will rival the Mahindra XUV700, Tata Safari and Hyundai Alcazar.
The India-spec model could be called the Renault Boreal, confirmed via an official teaser. However, Renault could stick with the Duster nameplate sighting its huge popularity in India. The spotted video confirms that the SUV is essentially a longer version of the 5-seater sibling. It has a strong road presence similar to the Bigster SUV on sale in Europe under the Dacia nameplate.
The SUV will have chunky roof rails, flared wheel arches, pronounced body cladding and rear roof spoiler. The side profile shows a typical SUV body with large glass areas, high ground clearance and bigger 18-inch alloy wheels.
The new Renault Duster 7-seater front design will be largely identical to the 5-seater sibling, featuring the conventional headlights with integrated LED daytime running lamps, signature Renault grille with big Renault Badge in the centre and a rugged bumper.

The new Renault Duster 7-seater SUV will first arrive with a petrol engine option. It is likely to get a 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produces 151bhp, and is paired to a dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
Renault is also evaluating hybrid engine for the new Duster and 7-seater Boreal. The hybrid version could come at a later stage. Renault is also developing a new Duster EV, which is likely to come with a dual-motor AWD set-up.
