It is no secret that Kia has started working on the next-gen Seltos SUV that has been caught testing on foreign soil. The all-new Kia Seltos is most likely to make global debut sometime in 2025, while India launch expected in late 2025 or early 2026. First launched in 2019, the Seltos has been the brand's top-selling SUV in our market.
The spy images reveal that the next-gen Seltos overall size and shape will remain identical to the existing model. However, the SUV will receive all-new front and rear design. The front styling will be heavily revised and will look different from any other Kia car on sale in the country. The sedan will have new headlamp design, new grille design and aggressive bumper. The rear design seems inspired by the Kia EV5 SUV on sale in select international markets.
The front has newly designed rectangular-shaped front grille with vertical slats. The grille is complemented by squarish headlamp with integrated LED daytime running lamps. The rear profile appears significantly different, featuring newly designed tail-lights, a roof-integrated spoiler with integrated brake lights, and newly designed bumper.
The new-gen Kia Seltos is likely to receive radical design changes inside the cabin. It could debut the brand's new design language with many styling elements shared with Kia's latest EVs and bigger models.
Similar to the current model, the new Kia Seltos is expected to be offered with multiple fuel options. The SUV is most likely to retain the existing 1.5L NA petrol, 1.5L turbo petrol and 1.5L turbo diesel engines. Kia is also planning to introduce hybrid cars in our market. The next-gen Seltos could also receive a petrol-hybrid engine.
Not just next-gen Seltos, Kia is also developing a wide range of new cars including EVs for India. The brand has already teased its new compact SUV, rumoured to be called the Kia Syros, which will be positioned between the Sonet and Seltos. It will be marketed as a lifestyle SUV with rugged design elements and high ground clearance.
The Korean brand is also testing the Carens facelift on foreign soil. The updated model is expected to arrive in our market in the first half of 2025. Moreover, the electric version of the Carens MPV is also under development. The Kia Carens EV is likely to arrive in our market by the end of 2025.
