Bigger Size, Hybrid Engine: The New Hyundai Creta is Coming

The next-generation Hyundai Creta is currently one of the most anticipated SUVs in the Indian market. The recent spy shots from South Korea revealing key details, confirming a radical departure from the current model. Internally codenamed SX3, the 2027 Creta will be bigger in size, more sophisticated and feature-loaded along with technologically advanced powertrain. 

Bigger in size - From 4.3m to 4.5m

Following the new Kia Seltos, the next-gen Creta will grow in size and it is evident from spy shots. The wheelbase will be increased significantly to around 2690-2700mm for improved rear-legroom and bigger boot space. It is expected that the new Creta length will grow from 4330mm to nearly 4500mm. The usable boot space could increase up to 450-460-litres.

Hybrid Power

The 2027 Hyundai Creta will continue to be offered with existing engine options, including  a 1.5L NA petrol, a 1.5L turbo petrol and a 1.5L turbo diesel. The biggest change will come in the form of a hybrid powertrain. It will come with an all-new strong hybrid engine, which is likely to use the 1.5L NA petrol engine, two electric motors and a small battery pack. The same hybrid powertrain will also power the new Kia Seltos. The company would aim to achieve a fuel efficiency of over 25kmpl. 

New K3 Platform

The next-gen Creta will be built on the global K3 platform instead of the SP2 architecture. The new Seltos is also based on the same K3 platform. It is claimed to be stronger and offers improved structural rigidity and safety. The current model secured 3 star crash test rating in GNCAP, while the next-gen Creta is surely targeting a 5 star safety rating. 

More Premium & feature loaded

The spy shots reveal that the next-gen Creta will come equipped with more premium cabin with high-end comfort and convenience features. The higher-spec models will ride on newly designed 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, wrapped in 235/45 section tyres. It will have wider track with a more planted road presence. 

The SUV will also get electric Boss mode. The front passenger seat can be electrically adjustable by rear occupants using electric controls on the side of the seat. This will allow rear passengers to slide the front seat forward and recline it to free up more legroom. The SUV will also come with adjustable headrests for all three rear passengers. It is likely to get a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment unit and a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display. The lower-spec variants are likely to get a 10.25-inch infotainment touch display.
