New C3 Aircross gets unique styling Based on the same platform as India-spec SUV Will be available with petrol and electric options
Citroen has revealed the new-gen C3 Aircross for the European market with an updated design and new features. The SUV shares styling cues with the India-spec C3 Aircross and will be available with a seven-seat layout. Plus, it will offer both petrol and electric powertrains.
The new C3 Aircross uses the Smart Car platform (Common Modular platform), which also underpins the Citroen C3 hatchback.
In terms of exterior, the SUV looks aggressive with its boxier shape and upright SUV stance. It features a closed-off grille, an updated Citroen logo, C-shaped headlamps with integrated DRLs, and a muscular bumper with black cladding. The SUV has larger wheels with a diameter of 690 mm. Towards the rear, it has unique C-shaped tail lamps, cladding on the bumper, and a sculpted tailgate.
It is 4.39 mm long and offers 3-row seating.. In addition, the SUV comes equipped with a head-up display, rear parking sensors as standard, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic headlights, wireless phone charging, and a rear camera.
The powertrain options for the new Citroen C3 Aircross are yet to be revealed. However, the company has confirmed that the SUV will be offered with a petrol engine and an electric powertrain with a front-axle-mounted electric motor. The new C3 Aircross EV could get a 44 kWh battery pack as the eC3 hatchback sold in Europe. The brand also has the plan to launch the electric variant first then petrol later.
