BMW is preparing to launch the first official model under the newly integrated BMW Alpina brand. Reports suggest that the revived Alpina B7 will lead this new chapter.
BMW took full control of Alpina on January 1, 2026. Since then, Alpina has been repositioned as a standalone luxury brand within the BMW Group. It now sits between regular BMW models and Rolls-Royce in the company’s lineup.

The upcoming Alpina B7 is expected to be based on the facelifted BMW 7 Series (G70 LCI). Production of the updated 7 Series is scheduled to begin in July 2026.
The Alpina B7 variant is likely to follow soon after, with a global debut expected in late 2026 or early 2027.
For the first time, the new Alpina model will carry its own internal chassis code — G72. This makes it more distinct from the standard G70 7 Series and highlights Alpina’s new independent position within BMW Group.
This move shows BMW’s intention to give Alpina a stronger and clearer identity in the luxury segment.
Under the hood, the new Alpina B7 is expected to get a 4.4-litre V8 mild-hybrid (MHEV) engine. Reports suggest power output could be around 617 hp.
This setup should deliver strong performance while also improving efficiency through mild-hybrid technology. As always, Alpina is expected to tune the engine and suspension for a balance of comfort and high-speed cruising.
Unlike previous Alpina models that were partly assembled at the Buchloe facility, the new Alpina B7 will be fully manufactured at BMW Group plants.
The Buchloe site will now focus on after-sales support, spare parts, and heritage services for older Alpina vehicles.
