Honda starts pan-India testing of the 0 Alpha Electric SUV. Prototype tested on highways, city roads, and rough terrain. SUV set to launch in India in FY2026-27 with more details coming soon.
Honda Cars India has kicked off the pan-India testing of its upcoming Honda 0 Alpha Electric SUV. The test run started at Honda’s Tapukara plant in Rajasthan, where a camouflaged prototype was spotted on Indian roads. This is an important step for Honda to check how the SUV performs in real driving conditions.
The 0 Alpha Electric SUV will be tested in different road conditions, from busy city streets to highways and rough roads. Engineers will check the ride, handling, efficiency, and battery performance. The SUV will also face extreme weather and different charging setups to make sure it works well for daily use in India.

Honda says the 0 Alpha Electric SUV is being developed for both India and international markets. It will be made in India and exported to other countries. The SUV is aimed at buyers who want a practical electric SUV for city driving and family trips.
This testing comes as Honda updates its global EV plans. The company recently canceled some models to focus on vehicles that make more sense for the market. Even with these changes, India is still a key country for Honda’s EV growth.
The Honda 0 Alpha Electric SUV is expected to launch in India and other countries in FY2026-27. As testing continues, more details about the battery, range, charging, and features will be revealed.
