New Electric 3-Wheelers Incoming – Hyundai TVS Collaboration

Hyundai Motor Company and TVS Motor Company have come together to develop electric three-wheelers for India.

The two companies have signed a Joint Development Agreement (JDA) to create vehicles designed for last-mile mobility, which is a key part of daily transport in Indian cities.

Focus on India’s EV Growth

India is seeing rapid growth in electric vehicles, especially in the three-wheeler space. This partnership aims to offer cleaner, more affordable transport options for both passenger and cargo use.

The idea was first shown as a concept at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, and is now moving closer to production.

Shared Expertise for Better Products

Hyundai will lead design and advanced engineering, using its global technology and human-centric approach.

Together, they aim to build a product that is practical, efficient, and suited for Indian conditions.

Built for Indian Roads

The upcoming electric three-wheeler will be designed to handle real-world challenges in India.

It is expected to include features like better ground clearance for rough roads, improved safety, efficient cooling for hot weather, and flexible cabin layouts. These features will make it suitable for multiple uses, from daily transport to goods delivery.

Local Production to Keep Costs Low

Both companies plan to manufacture the vehicle in India, with a strong focus on local sourcing.

This will help reduce costs, improve service support, and also boost the local automotive ecosystem and job creation.

From Concept to Reality

With this agreement, the project now moves from concept stage to full development and production. The vehicle will go through testing and approvals before launch.
