Honda updates its iconic H logo for electric and hybrid cars. The new emblem will debut on next-generation models from 2027. India is set to play a key role in Honda’s global EV plans.
Honda Motor Co., Ltd. has revealed a refreshed version of its iconic “H” logo for its automobile business. The announcement was made on January 13, 2026, from Tokyo. The new logo will be used on Honda’s future cars and will be rolled out globally in phases.
The ‘H’ mark has been part of Honda’s car business since 1963. Over the years, it has seen several design changes. This latest update comes as Honda moves strongly towards electric and intelligent vehicles.

Honda says the new H mark has been designed along with its next-generation electric vehicles. These include models from the upcoming Honda 0 Series, which follow a fresh “starting from zero” approach.
The updated logo looks like two open hands. It represents Honda’s focus on innovation, new ideas, and putting customers at the centre of mobility. The company says it reflects its goal to go beyond traditional car-making.
The new H logo will first appear on Honda’s next-generation electric and hybrid cars launching from 2027 onwards. After that, it will be extended to Honda dealerships, brand communication, and motorsports activities across the world.
Current models will continue with the existing logo for now.
The announcement is important for Honda India, which is gearing up for a major comeback. Honda has already confirmed plans to launch up to 10 new cars in India by 2030. Out of these, seven will be SUVs.
India has been named as one of Honda’s top three growth markets, along with the US and Japan. As Honda refreshes its product line in India, the new H mark is expected to feature on upcoming electric and hybrid models sold in the country.
One of the key future products for India is the Honda 0 Alpha electric SUV. The concept was shown at the Japan Mobility Show 2025. The production version is expected to be made at Honda’s Tapukara plant in Rajasthan.
India will act as a global manufacturing and export hub for this electric SUV. The model is likely to share parts with the Honda Elevate to keep costs in check while following Honda’s new global EV design style.
With a strong focus on EVs, SUVs, and new technology, the new H mark is more than just a design update. Honda sees this phase as its “second founding”. For India, it signals a fresh start as the brand looks to rebuild its presence and grow in the competitive car market.
