Hyundai Bayon Coming This Fiscal to Challenge Maruti Victoris

Hyundai Bayon launch before the end of current financial year First Hyundai over 4 meters to get a factory-fitted CNG kit

Hyundai Motor India is on track to launch two all-new crossovers, the all-new Bayon crossover and an all-new electric SUV before the end of the current financial year. The Hyundai Bayon is expected to be revealed before the end of this year, and its commercial release could take place in Q1, 2027. This upcoming midsize SUV was recently spotted undergoing real-world benchmarking tests on Indian roads, running alongside the Maruti Suzuki Victoris.

Hyundai Bayon - Key Details

Internally codenamed BC4i, the Hyundai Bayon is expected to measure around 4.2 meters in length. This slots it directly into the price and size gap between the sub-4 meter Venue and the midsize Creta. The spy images show that the Bayon has a more compact footprint, a shorter wheelbase, and smaller wheel diameters than the 4.3-meter-long Maruti Victoris

Instead of the rounded crossover design, the new Hyundai Bayon will carry a taller, boxier stance inspired by the latest Hyundai’s design theme. Upfront is a split headlamp set up, featuring high-mounted, DRLs and “ice-cube” LED projector main headlamps integrated into the bumper. The SUV is expected to ride on 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. It will have a functional roof rails, and connected LED tail-lights.

The Bayon will be equipped with high-end comfort and convenience features. It is expected to get a large touchscreen infotainment unit, a fully digital driver’s display, connected car technology, and a LEVEL 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite featuring autonomous emergency braking and adaptive cruise control.

Engine Options

The Bayon will be the first Hyundai vehicle over 4 meters long to offer a factory-fitted CNG option. It will get the small dual-cylinder layout under the trunk floor to offer usable boot space. The SUV will get a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine producing 114bhp and 144 Nm of torque, paired to either a 6-speed manual or a a CVT automatic. Hyundai is also readying a new 1.2L turbo petrol engine, which could power the new Bayon crossover.
