Hyundai India is preparing to bring an electric version of Creta to the Indian market. Production of the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV will begin in December 2024. As for the launch, it will come into the market in early 2025.
The electric version of the Creta SUV will be based on the Creta Facelift that launched in January 2024. However, the spy shots suggest that the upcoming Creta EV will feature a few distinctive design details to make it look like an electric car. These include a blanked-off grille, a front-fender-mounted charging port, and aero-designed alloy wheels.
In terms of interior features, the electric Creta will come equipped with new seat upholstery, dual displays for the multimedia & instrument panel, a revised centre console, AC vents, a new steering wheel, a panoramic sunroof, and more.
As for safety, the Creta EV SUV will offer a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, front & rear parking sensors, six airbags, and a blind spot monitor. An ADAS suite will also be provided.
The upcoming electric SUV is expected to offer a 50- 60 kWh battery unit. This might offer an estimated range of over 500 km.
Hyundai Creta EV is likely to be launched next year while its production will start by the end of this year. Price for the electric SUV might start from Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will compete with MG ZS EV and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki eVX.
