Hyundai has officially announced to launch 26 new models including ICE, hybrid and electric vehicles in India by 2030. The Korean automaker is facing a tough competition from the homegrown Tata Motors and Mahindra. In order to regain lost market share, Hyundai plans to introduce multiple models across segments including entry-level hatchbacks, compact SUVs, full-sized SUVs, hybrids and skateboard-based EVs. The long-awaited Hyundai Palisade full-size SUV is also reportedly heading to India.
The Palisade will be positioned as Hyundai’s flagship model in India. The new model could be introduced as a CKD unit. A new media report claims that Hyundai is looking to localise the Palisade SUV in India and export it to other markets.
Hyundai is yet to officially the launch of the new Palisade SUV in India. However, a new media report reveals that the Hyundai Palisade will go on sale in India in 2028. Estimated to be priced around Rs 50 lakh, the new full-sized Hyundai SUV will be a direct rival to the Toyota Fortuner, which will also receive a generation change in near future.
The Palisade SUV will come with Hyundai’s next-gen hybrid powertrain, which is likely to be offered with a 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbo-petrol. This engine produces 334hp of power and 460Nm of torque, and is claimed to offer a fuel efficiency of 14.1kmpl.
Hyundai claims that the hybrid setup offers around 45 percent higher fuel efficiency, 19 percent higher power and 9 percent higher torque. A 6-speed automatic gearbox driving the power to front-wheels will come as standard. The company could also offer an all-wheel drive system. It also comes with three drive modes - Eco, Sport and My Drive - and three terrain modes - Mud, Snow and Sand. The Hyundai Palisade comes with an electrically-controlled ride comfort system dubbed ‘e-Comfort Drive’, which reduces vertical movement while crossing speed-breaker.
The Hyundai Palisade is a 3-row layout that can accommodate up to 8 adults. It comes with reclinable second-row captain seats with deployable footrests. Some of the features include a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, a three-spoke steering wheel, a wireless charging slot, a 360-degree camera, panoramic sunroof, powered seats with heating and cooling function, V2L functionality, ADAS suite, built-in dash cam and others.
