Hyundai Tucson returns to the country; Gets major styling updates; First HMIL product to offer Hyundai Smart Sense
After months of waiting, Hyundai Motors India Limited has launched its flagship SUV, the Tucson in India. Now in its fourth generation, the four-wheeler was revealed globally towards the tail end of 2020. The new model features major styling updates along with an upgraded tech and features.
Like with the recently launched Venue Facelift, the new Tucson features the brands sensuous sportiness design language. The talking point of the front end is the large gloss black parametric grill that neatly integrates the block like LED DRL. Away from the grille, we see the projector headlamp setup neatly tucked in on the re-profiled bumper. At the bottom we have a large black skid plate completing the look.
Towards the side, we can witness a new design alloy wheel along with more angular body cladding and blacked-out pillars. At the rear, the traditional H-like tail lamp set-up is visible with LED connecting light running across the tailgate.
On the inside the main attraction of the four-wheelers cabin are the 10.25-inch touchscreen for infotainment and the other smaller screen for A/C control. In addition to these screens the car also features a floating digital drivers’ cockpit. Other highlights of the cabin include 64 colour ambient lighting, an e-parking brake and a large panoramic sun roof. Increasing the comfort and premium factor of the cabin, Hyundai has provided with ventilated and heated front seats with electric adjust, mermory function for the drivers seat and an option to adjust the front passanger seat from the rear for a boss mode experience.
Taking safety to the next level the car comes with 40+ safety features as standard. In addition to these, the four-wheeler also gets Level 2 ADAS called the Hyundai Smart Sense. The system gets multiple collision avoidance systems.
Like the outgoing model, the new car will come powered by a 2.0-litre turbo petrol and 2.0-Litre turbo diesel engine options. The four-wheeler is available with a 6-speed automatic (petrol) and an 8-speed automatic transmission (diesel) options. In addition, the SUV also gets AWD options for minimal off-roading.
Hyundai Tucson: Colour Options
The new Tucson comes with 5 monotone and 2 dual tone options. Monotone options include Polar White, Phantom Black, Fiery Red, Starry Night and the new Amazon Grey.
Seeing the growing demand for hybrid cars, popular mass-market car manufacturers like Kia, Hyundai, Mahindra and Renault are planning to launch hybrid SUVs in India.
