Kia Motors has solid plans to roll out a slew of new cars in both the Indian and international markets. Among them is the new Syros electric SUV which is likely to be showcased at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show and will be on sale by mid-2025 in the country. Meanwhile, the brand is testing another electric SUV - the EV2 globally, which could be smaller than the India-spec Clavis/Syros. With the launch of the Kia EV5 in China last year at 149,800 yuan (Rs 17.27 lakh), we expect that Kia will launch the 2025 EV2 as an affordable choice for customers.

Based on the spy shots, the electric SUV features Kia’s new design language. Its Star Map LED lighting looks similar to its flagship EV9 and EV3. Overall, the shape of the car is boxy, similar to what we spotted in Syros. Some of its notable exterior design elements include a flat front fascia, a squarish bonnet design, vertically stacked lighting elements, and the charging port located at the front.

Apart from this, the EV2 can also get dual-tone ORVMs with integrated turn signals, dual-tone sport alloy wheels, roof rails, thick body cladding, high-mounted stop lamps, and more.
The interior of the smaller electric SUV is expected to highlight the next-gen Connected Car Navigation Cockpit. This operating system has a dual-screen setup which comprises a 12.3-inch infotainment and driver display screens.
Kia EV2 is expected to build on Hyundai's e-GMP platform. It could get a Front-Wheel-Drive setup. While the battery details are yet to be revealed, we can expect it to get a 42 kWh battery unit with LFP and a 62 kWh NMC unit. It can offer a maximum range between 300 km to 480 km. Besides, it will take around 30 minutes to charge the vehicle from 10-80 percent. Some of the advanced features such as Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) will also be on offer.
Kia Syros will be positioned between Sonet and Seltos. The price of this new car could stand somewhere around Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom). It will come in both petrol and electric variants. The brand might first introduce the petrol version of Syros in mid-2025 while its electric variant could come after 6 months of its ICE launch.
