Kia Syros was recently launched in India. Its prices are in the range of Rs. 9 lakh to Rs. 17.80 lakh (ex-showroom), competing with the most popular compact SUVs such as Tata Nexon and Hyundai Venue. Another Kia model in existence since 2019, Seltos also comes with plenty of features. Comparing Kia Syros to the Kia Seltos is critical, hence making it pertinent based on crucial categories including price, design, features inside the interior, safety and performance. The two are among the most popular SUVs in the Indian market. This comparison will help you decide which one suits your needs better.
Kia Syros comes in the price range of Rs. 9 lakh and Rs. 17.80 lakh. It comes with both petrol and diesel variants. The base petrol variants will be available for Rs. 9 lakh. Mid to top variants will start at Rs. 11 lakh and will go up to Rs. 17.80 lakh. Syros comes with six variant: HTK, HTK (O), HTK Plus, HTX, HTX Plus, and HTX Plus (O).
The base variant for Kia Seltos is at Rs. 11.12 lakh and goes as high as Rs. 20.51 lakh. There are six broad variants that come along: HTE (O), HTK, HTK Plus, HTX, GTX Plus, and X-Line.
(All prices are ex-showroom)
The Kia Syros draws inspiration from the flagship electric SUV, EV9. The posture is built strong, with muscled and modern design. The biggest USP, of course, is 3-pod vertically stacked LED headlights. LED DRLs come sleek and lean. This boxy profile could work out further-including rugged body cladding, on 17-inch alloy wheels that will feature. And for the rear, sportiveness will be attained through L-shaped LED lights along with the roof-mounted spoiler.
The Kia Seltos has quite a few notable design features. First, it comes with Star Map LED Tail Lamps - so inspired by the night sky. The car also comes with 18-inch Crystal Cut Glossy Black Alloy Wheels and Crown Jewel LED Headlamps for bright lighting and premium grade look, Star Map LED DRLs, and Sweeping LED Light Guide for futuristic looks. The G1.5T features a Dual Sport Exhaust, providing a sporty look and feel. The design and style give the Seltos a sophisticated and modern feel.
Inside, the Kia Syros offers a premium cabin with leatherette seat upholstery and a dual-tone color scheme, too, hosting a 2-spoke steering wheel. However, in addition to these, some features of modern comfort have been added, such as a 12.3-inch infotainment system with connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a 12.3-inch digital driver display and automatic climate control. The Kia Syros feature list also consists of an 8-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, front and rear seat ventilation, a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, and 64-color ambient lighting.
The cabin space is warm, and the Seltos is also supported with a 10.25-inch dual display setup for its infotainment system and instrument cluster. Other features include connected car technology, wireless charging for phones, front ventilated seats, and dual-zone climate control. It has a boot capacity of 433-litres and rear seats fold into the condition of 60:40 for more storage.
However, on the safety end, the Kia Syros do command most of that, including a six-air-bag setup along with ESC rearview camera. ISOFIX child seat anchorage is given, and that's not forgetting advanced driver assistant systems like lane keep assist or blind-spot monitoring, 360-degree cameras as well as its dual dash-cam setup.
The airbags include six while ABS with EBD, hill-start assist and vehicle stability control arrive with Kia Seltos. Higher trims get ADAS features like adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and blind-spot detection.
Kia Syros is offered with two options of engines. These are either a 1.0 litre turbo-petrol delivering 120 hp or a 1.5 litre diesel that delivers 116 hp. All these engines come mated to a 6-speed manual transmission while the petrol comes with an optional 7-speed dual-clutch auto, and the diesel has its own 6-speed torque converter auto.
Three types of engines come in the Kia Seltos. The first model is 1.5-litre petrol with an output of 113 bhp, and the second model is 1.5-litre turbo-petrol type with an output of 157 bhp. The third model is 1.5-litre diesel, with an output of 114 bhp. Available transmissions in this vehicle that come in the market are 6-speed manual, IVT, DCT, and automatic.
