The Indian automotive market is preparing for an exciting year ahead with several new car launches in 2025. From electric vehicles to powerful sports cars, this year promises to bring innovation, technology, and performance to the roads.
Adding to this, the industry will also witness the facelifted versions of popular models — the Kia Carens facelift (launching on May 8) and the Tata Altroz facelift (set for May 21). Moreover, deliveries of the new Skoda Kodiaq will officially commence from May 2, further heating up the competition.

Lamborghini’s upcoming hybrid supercar, the Temerario, will be a powerful replacement for the Huracan. Priced around Rs 6 crore, it will undoubtedly attract attention from luxury car enthusiasts.

Key Features: Larger 50.6 kWh battery, 460 km range, ADAS safety features
MG Windsor EV is set to impress with an upgraded 50.6 kWh battery, delivering a range of up to 460 km. This upcoming model promises more power without sacrificing the vehicle’s performance. New ADAS safety technologies will also be on offer, although prices are expected to rise slightly.

Key Features: 2.0L turbocharged engine, 261 bhp, 0-100 kmph in 5.9 seconds
The iconic Volkswagen Golf GTI is expected to launch in India as a Completely Built-Up Unit (CBU). Powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine producing 261 bhp and 370 Nm of torque, it can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds, with a top speed of 250 km/h. It could be priced between Rs 45-50 lakh (ex-showroom).

MG Majestor will be positioned as a premium sedan, offering luxury and advanced features while sharing its platform and engine options with the MG Gloster. It is expected to take on models like the Toyota Fortuner and Skoda Kodiaq in terms of luxury and performance.

Maruti Suzuki will make a bold entry into the electric SUV segment with the eVitara, offering a range of up to 500 km. Built on the HEARTECT-e platform, the eVitara will feature a 10.1-inch touchscreen, digital driver’s display, and advanced safety tech like ADAS. With prices ranging from Rs 18-25 lakh, it will compete against Hyundai Creta Electric and Tata Curvv EV.

Key Features: 500 km range, Omega-Arc platform, Tata's new EV design language
Tata Harrier EV will bring an all-electric twist to Tata’s popular SUV. Based on the Omega-Arc platform, it promises a claimed range of around 500 km. Expect a feature-rich cabin along with the brand’s latest EV design language, making this a strong contender in the electric SUV market.

Mahindra XUV 3XO EV is a compact electric SUV expected to launch with two battery options: a 34.5 kWh battery for a range of 375 km, and a 39.4 kWh battery for 456 km. Packed with features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charging, and a 360-degree camera, it will compete with the Tata Nexon EV in the growing electric SUV segment.
