Kia is set to launch the new Clavis Electric MPV in India by July 2025, just ahead of the Diwali festival. This electric version of the popular Carens MPV brings better features, a modern design, and a strong electric range. The Clavis EV aims to be a family-friendly electric vehicle with advanced safety and technology.
Kia recently introduced the Carens Clavis, a premium and feature-rich update of its well-known MPV for the Indian market. Alongside this, Kia announced plans to bring hybrid, electric, and traditional petrol models to India. The Clavis Electric Vehicle will be the brand’s first mass-market EV in the country, with its launch planned in July 2025.
The Clavis EV will keep a similar shape to the Carens Clavis but will include new design touches suited to an electric vehicle. Inspired by Kia’s global EVs like the EV9 and EV3, it will feature a closed-off front grille, redesigned LED headlights, and daytime running lights (DRLs). The charging port will be placed on the front fender for easy access. The car will also have aero-friendly alloy wheels, updated tail-lights connected by a light bar, and a fresh rear bumper design.
Inside, the Clavis EV will offer a roomy cabin with dual HD screens for infotainment and driver information. Other comfort features include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, and a powered driver’s seat.
Safety is a priority with the Clavis EV, which will come equipped with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). This includes adaptive cruise control, lane assist, autonomous emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoring. Parking will be easier thanks to a 360-degree camera system and sensors all around the vehicle. The second-row seats will also slide and recline, adding to passenger comfort.
Kia Clavis EV shares its battery technology with the Creta EV, offering two options. The smaller 42kWh battery powers a 135hp electric motor, providing a range of about 390 kilometers. The larger 51.4kWh battery pairs with a 171hp motor and can cover up to 473 kilometers on a single charge. These options offer good performance and efficiency for city and highway driving.
Kia plans to launch the Clavis EV in India by July 2025, with deliveries expected before the Diwali festival. This launch will strengthen Kia’s position in India’s growing electric vehicle market. With its premium features, safety technology, and practical range, the Clavis EV will appeal to buyers looking for a modern, eco-friendly MPV.
