Mahindra Bets Big on SUVs With ICE & EVs Soon

Big SUV push from Mahindra ICE and EV models incoming New launches lined up for 2026-27

Mahindra is quietly building momentum for one of its biggest product phases yet. Over the next year, the brand is expected to roll out a mix of updated bestsellers and all-new SUVs, covering both petrol/diesel and electric segments.

This move signals a clear intent - Mahindra wants to stay aggressive in India’s fast-growing SUV space.

Familiar Names, Fresh Updates

Two of Mahindra’s most popular SUVs are set to get noticeable upgrades. The Mahindra Scorpio N, which has been a strong seller since 2022, is likely to receive a facelift soon. While the overall design may remain familiar, subtle changes like revised lighting elements, updated bumpers and a refreshed grille are expected to keep it looking modern.

Inside, the changes could be more significant, with a larger infotainment screen, a digital driver display and a reworked dashboard layout.

At the same time, the Mahindra Thar is also preparing for a major refresh.

Inspired by newer design elements seen on recent concepts, the updated Thar could feature a more premium look along with added comfort features like ventilated seats, wireless charging and push-button start.

A New SUV to Fill the Gap

Mahindra isn’t just updating existing models, it’s also working on something new. A compact SUV based on the Vision.S concept is expected to arrive, positioned between the Mahindra XUV 3XO and the Thar.

This model could bring together the comfort of a city SUV with the rugged appeal Mahindra is known for. Multiple engine options, including petrol, diesel and even hybrid, are likely to be part of the plan.

Electric Plans Take Shape

On the electric side, Mahindra’s ambitions are just as strong. A new Born Electric SUV, likely to be called the BE 7, is in development and could arrive next year.

Positioned against rivals like the Tata Harrier EV, this model is expected to offer a modern design, strong performance and long driving range. Early expectations suggest a range of over 500 km, with higher variants potentially going closer to 650 km on a full charge.

If everything goes as planned, the next year could see Mahindra showrooms getting busier than ever.
