The Thar Roxx will make global debut on August 15 It is likely to be priced between Rs 13.5 lakh and Rs 20 lakh 3 engine options - 1.5L diesel, 2.0L turbo petrol & 2.2L diesel
Mahindra has officially announced that the Thar 5-door will be called the Mahindra Thar Roxx. In fact, the company has confirmed that the 5-door lifestyle SUV will make its global debut on Independence Day 2024, that's August 15, 2024. The Thar Roxx 5-door will come as a premium model and will offer more practicality than the 3-door Thar.
The Thar 5-door will make its global debut on August 15, 2024. While official bookings are yet to be announced, select Mahindra dealers have already started taking pre-orders for the Thar Roxx.
Prices of the Thar Roxx are expected to be released on the day of unveiling. However, Mahindra could follow the 3-door Thar launch events where the SUV was originally revealed on August 15, while prices were announced in October. We expect the new Thar 5-door to be priced somewhere between Rs 13.5 lakh and Rs 20 lakh.

The new Mahindra Thar Roxx 5-door SUV will come with a more premium and feature interior. It is most likely to have a dual-tone brown and black interior scheme. The dashboard layout will be similar to the 3-door model, but it will come with more comfort features.
The central console will be dominated by a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Mahindra's latest user interface. It will retain the signature round Air-Con vents and a metal badge will be embossed right below the left AC vent. The infotainment unit will be compatible with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The key features include push button start, front and rear parking sensors, digital instrument console, 60:40 split folding rear seats and auto dimming IRVM. The new Thar Roxx will come with multiple safety features like 6 airbags, a 360-degree surround view camera, front parking sensors, ESC and traction control.
The Thar Roxx 5-seater SUV will be equipped with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), which we have already seen on the XUV700. It will come with autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, driver drowsiness detection and others.
Yes, Mahindra has officially teased the 5-door Thar on its social media platforms. The Thar 5-door has been named the Thar Roxx. It will make its official debut on August 15, 2024.
No, the Thar 5-door will be initially introduced as a 5-seater SUV in the Indian market. The company could launch a 7-seater derivative; however, nothing has been confirmed.
The Thar Roxx 5-door price in India is expected to be released in the next couple of months or on August 15, 2024. To be positioned above the Thar 3-door, the Thar Roxx 5-door is expected to be priced somewhere between Rs 13.5 lakh and Rs 20 lakh.
The Thar Roxx 5-door is likely to follow the same strategy as the 3-door model. The entry-level models are expected to receive a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine with rear-wheel drive (4x2) setup. We believe that the Mahindra Thar 4x2 5-door could be priced around Rs 13.5 lakh to Rs 16 lakh.
The 5-door Thar Roxx will come as a 5-seater practical lifestyle SUV. The company could also offer a 4-seater model with two captain seats in the second-row. Previous media reports reveal that Mahindra could introduce a 7-seater derivative of the Thar Roxx; however, nothing has been officially announced.
Yes, the 5 door Thar Roxx will come with a factory-fitted sunroof. This model will have a fixed metal roof, which allows Mahindra to add a sunroof. What's interesting is that the SUV will come with both single-pane and dual-pane sunroof options.
Yes, the Thar 5 door will have a bigger dimensions compared to the 3-door Thar. The SUV will ride on a longer wheelbase, which will allow Mahindra to create more space inside the cabin. It will measure around 4.3 meters in length, which is around 300mm longer than the 3-door model.

Mahindra will definitely want to market the new Thar Roxx 5-door as a family car. It will be based on a more sophisticated ladder-on-frame chassis that underpins the Scorpio N. Not just platform, the SUV could share the suspension setup with the 3-door model. The Roxx 5-door will have a longer wheelbase, and spacious cabin. Moreover, accessing second-row seats will be much easier than the 3-door model.
The Thar Roxx 5-door will also come with several comfort and convenience features like a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen, a digital instrument console, a 360-degree camera, front and rear centre armrest, automatic climate control and others.
The 3-door Thar has a round clearance of 226mm. We expect the new Thar Roxx to have a slightly lower ground clearance for better ride quality. The ground clearance of Mahindra Thar Roxx could be around 200-210mm.
