Mahindra Vision S - 5 Big Details Revealed

Fresh spy shots reveal new Mahindra Vision S details. A BE-branded steering wheel hints at an EV version. The SUV is expected to enter production in 2027.

Fresh spy shots of the Mahindra Vision S have surfaced online, revealing new details about the upcoming SUV. Although the test vehicle is still covered in camouflage, the latest images give us a better look at the cabin and also hint at what Mahindra could be planning for the future.

Here are five important things revealed by the latest spy shots.

1. BE Steering Wheel Seen for the First Time

One of the biggest highlights is the BE-branded steering wheel. This is interesting because earlier test vehicles had hinted at an ICE version of the Vision S. The BE logo now suggests that Mahindra could also be preparing an electric version of the SUV. The company has not confirmed this yet, but the latest spy shots have strengthened that possibility.

2. ICE Version Is Already Confirmed

Previous spy shots had indicated that the Vision S will be offered with an internal combustion engine. Reports have also suggested that the SUV could get a diesel engine paired with a manual gearbox. This means the Vision S is likely to be available with more than one powertrain option.

3. New NU_IQ Platform Will Support Multiple Powertrains

Unlike the Mahindra XEV 9e and Mahindra BE 6, which are based on the INGLO platform, the Vision S will use Mahindra's new NU_IQ architecture. The new platform has been developed to support petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric powertrains. If Mahindra launches an electric Vision S, it will become the first flagship EV from the brand that is not based on the INGLO platform.

4. Cabin Design Looks Close to the Concept

The latest spy images also reveal more of the interior. While most of the dashboard remains covered, the overall layout looks similar to the Vision S concept shown earlier. The gear selector also appears to follow the same design theme seen on the concept model, suggesting Mahindra may retain much of the original cabin design in the production version.

5. Production Expected From 2027

Mahindra has already confirmed that SUVs based on the NU_IQ platform will enter production from 2027. The Vision S is expected to be one of the first models to use this new architecture.

More details about its design, features and powertrain options are likely to emerge as testing continues in the coming months.
