Mahindra Vision S based SUV will launch in early 2027 Production model could be revealed in 2026 It could replace the Bolero Neo in the sub-4 meter SUV segment. The new SUV will be based on the new NU.IQ modular platform ICE and hybrid versions will arrive first, EV could join the line-up.
The next all-new ICE-powered Mahindra SUV for India will be the production version of the Vision S concept that debuted on the Independence Day 2025. This compact SUV concept sits under 4 meters in length and could replace the Bolero Neo. We believe that the company could introduce a slightly longer version of the SUV to fill the void between the XUV 3XO and the Scorpio-N, as Mahindra has no product in the mid-sized SUV category.
Mahindra is testing an all-new lifestyle SUV, which was earlier claimed to be the next-gen Bolero Neo. However, the spy images confirm that the SUV is essentially the production version of the Vision S concept. The spotted model appears largely identical to the concept, featuring tailgate mounted spare wheel, squarish body and high stance.

The new Vision S Concept is based on the brand’s new NU.IQ modular platform, which is compatible with ICE, hybrid and EV powertrains. The architecture will support vehicles measuring between 3,990mm and 4,320mm. It is expected that the Vision S based SUV could measure around 4 to 4.3 meters in length.

Mahindra has confirmed that the NU.IQ based SUVs will start arriving from 2027. The Vision S based compact SUV is expected to be the first model to arrive, as its testing begins. We believe that the production-spec model could debut sometime in next year with launch expected in late 2026 or early 2027.

Called it a baby Scorpio-N or mini Scorpio, the Vision S carries all the design elements that makes it look rugged yet modern. The SUV has a boxy design, featuring squarish front profile, prominent black cladding and a uniquely styled lighting set-up. However, the production model will have a more traditional lighting system.
The Vision S based SUV will come with front parking sensors and ADAS tech, which is also present in the original concept. It will also get a LED fog lamps on either side of the bumper. The SUV has a flatter roof, rectangular-shaped glass areas, and pronounced rear quarter area. It has high ground clearance, thick cladding under the doors, and squared-off wheel arches with thick cladding.

The rear also has squarish-design, featuring a tailgate mounted spare wheel and strong black cladding. It has inverted L-shaped tail-lights and a massive lower bumper housing a grey colour skid plate, and pixel-shaped lights on either sides.

The Mahindra Vision S compact SUV will have a newly designed cabin, featuring dual digital screens separated from each other by an AC vent. The SUV gets physical buttons for multiple functions for the centre console. The concept had three-spoke round steering wheel with haptic controls for the steering mounted functions.
In terms of features, the Vision S based SUV is expected to get wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, powered driver’s seat, LEVEL 2 ADAS, a 360-degree surround view camera and others.
The Vision S based compact SUV will initially arrive with petrol and diesel engine choices. It is likely to get a 1.2L, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.5L turbocharged diesel. Mahindra has confirmed that the new SUVs will also receive hybrid and electric powertrains. The hybrid powertrain is expected to utilise the 1.2L turbo petrol engine.
