Maruti Suzuki’s upcoming eVX electric SUV will mark ADAS debut for the joint venture. Suzuki The current premium lineup comprises Grand Vitara and Invicto, going up to Rs. 28.92 lakh, ex-showroom. While the e-SUV’s launch is likely in 2025, the Grand Vitara may see the addition of ADAS with a facelift as well, reports claimed earlier. Suzuki offers ADAS in countries like the UK and Japan.
“The Concept eVX is Suzuki’s first global strategic Electric Vehicle, and I am excited that it debuts here in India. It brings exciting urban SUV styling through its sharp design language and as a Battery Electric Vehicle it purposefully reinforces our commitment to environment friendliness and sustainability,” Maruti Suzuki India CEO Hisashi Takeuchi stated.
Showcased at the Auto Expo 2023, its concept featured a ground-up all-electric platform which will spawn Suzuki’s future range of EVs. It claims the dedicated architecture will offer class-leading cabin comfort, convenience and connected features. In essence, the eVX will be a mid-size (4.3mm) SUV commanding an upright stance and high seating.
The electric SUV eVX will be powered by a 60kWh battery pack offering up to 550km of driving range.
Suzuki Motor Corporation President Toshihiro Suzuki said, “We plan to bring [the eVX] to market by 2025. At the Suzuki Group, addressing global warming is a priority. We are promoting a range of global measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions generated from our business…Here in India, as announced in March last year, we will invest Rs. 100 billion in the production of BEVs and their batteries.”
