New EQS Facelift Revealed – What’s Changed?

EQS gets major update Range now up to 926km More tech, better efficiency

Mercedes-Benz has revealed the updated Mercedes-Benz EQS, bringing several important changes to its flagship electric sedan.

The facelift focuses on improving range, efficiency, design and technology, making the EQS more advanced than before.

Range Gets a Big Boost

One of the biggest changes is the improved driving range.

The EQS 450+ now offers a claimed range of up to 926 km, which is a significant increase over the previous model.

Other variants also see improvements, with the EQS 400 offering up to 817 km, while the EQS 500 4MATIC and EQS 580 4MATIC deliver up to 876 km.

New Battery and 800V Tech

The updated EQS now uses a new 800V electrical architecture.

Battery capacity goes up to 122 kWh, helping improve efficiency and performance. Power outputs range from 367 hp to 585 hp across different variants.

Faster Charging and Efficiency

Charging speeds have improved as well.

The EQS now supports DC fast charging of up to 350 kW, allowing it to add up to 320 km of range in just 10 minutes under ideal conditions.

It also supports bidirectional charging, including vehicle-to-home and vehicle-to-grid functions.

Improved Driving Experience

Mercedes has introduced a two-speed transmission on the rear axle to improve both acceleration and efficiency.

Regenerative braking has been increased, allowing better energy recovery during everyday driving.

The air suspension system has also been upgraded with cloud-based inputs to adjust ride quality based on road conditions.

Subtle Design Changes

The EQS facelift keeps its sleek shape but gets some visual updates.

It now features a redesigned front grille with illuminated star patterns and updated LED headlamps.

At the rear, the light bar and bumper have been revised for a fresher look.

More Advanced Interior Tech

Inside, the EQS continues with the large MBUX Hyperscreen setup. It now runs on Mercedes’ new MB.OS software and supports over-the-air updates.

The car also gets an AI-based virtual assistant and smarter navigation that factors in charging and energy usage.

Rear passengers benefit from dual 13.1-inch screens and added comfort features.

Launch Timeline

The EQS facelift is expected to go on sale globally by the second half of 2026. An India launch is likely later, though no official timeline has been confirmed yet.
