Hyundai Bayon expected to get a CNG option in India. Level 2 ADAS and six airbags likely to be offered. New SUV expected to get a 1.5-litre petrol engine and dual 10.25-inch screens.
Hyundai is preparing to introduce the new Bayon in India around the festive season, with the SUV expected to bring a mix of new technology, a CNG option and a petrol powertrain. The Bayon will sit between the Venue and the next-generation Creta in Hyundai’s India lineup. The new model is expected to target the growing demand for compact SUVs while offering features usually seen in larger and more expensive cars.
One of the key highlights of the India-spec Hyundai Bayon is expected to be its CNG option. The model is likely to become Hyundai’s first car above four metres to get a CNG powertrain. The SUV is also expected to use an underbody CNG tank. This layout could help preserve usable cabin and boot space compared with a conventional CNG tank arrangement. Alongside the CNG version, the Bayon is expected to be powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. Transmission options are likely to include a 6-speed manual and a CVT.

The Bayon is also expected to bring advanced driver assistance technology to the segment. Level 2 ADAS is likely to be part of its equipment list. The safety package is expected to be supported by six airbags as standard, adding to the SUV’s safety-focused equipment. More details about the exact ADAS functions and their availability across variants are expected closer to the launch.
The cabin of the new Hyundai Bayon is expected to have a modern dashboard layout with two 10.25-inch screens. One will serve as the infotainment display, while the other will function as the driver’s display. Other expected features include wireless phone charging and an electric sunroof. Hyundai is likely to position the Bayon as a more feature-rich option between the Venue and Creta.
The Bayon will get a crossover-inspired design with several styling elements aimed at giving it a wider and more aggressive appearance. The expected design highlights include arrow-shaped LED daytime running lamps, a low-mounted front grille, connected LED tail-lamps and prominent body cladding. The overall design will give the Bayon a more SUV-like stance while keeping its crossover proportions.
Hyundai has already confirmed the Bayon nameplate for India, and the model is expected to arrive around the October-November period. With a 1.5-litre petrol engine, an expected CNG option, Level 2 ADAS and dual 10.25-inch displays, the Bayon will bring several new features to Hyundai’s lineup.
