New Kia Syros EV - Fresh Updates Out

Kia Syros EV launch expected in August 2026 Upcoming electric SUV may get 49kWh battery pack Syros EV to rival Nexon EV and XUV 3XO EV

Kia India is preparing to launch the new Syros EV in the Indian market. The upcoming electric SUV is expected to arrive in August 2026 and will become Kia’s most affordable EV in India.

It will directly rival models like the Tata Nexon EV and the upcoming Mahindra XUV 3XO EV.

Based on the Regular Syros

The Syros EV will be based on the ICE-powered Syros already sold in India.

Spy shots seen so far suggest that the electric version will retain most of the original SUV’s boxy styling and tallboy design.

However, Kia is expected to add a few EV-specific changes, including redesigned bumpers, unique alloy wheels, and a charging port mounted on the front fender.

The overall look is expected to remain familiar, similar to what Kia did with the Carens Clavis EV.

Interior Could Get EV-Specific Features

Inside, the dashboard layout is likely to stay mostly unchanged.

The Syros EV is expected to carry forward many features from the regular model while adding some EV-focused functions.

Features like vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging are likely to be offered.

Kia may also introduce EV-specific displays, updated graphics, and new interior trims.

It is still unclear whether the electric SUV will get ADAS features, especially since ADAS was recently removed from the updated ICE Syros.

Battery Options and Platform Details

The upcoming Syros EV will continue to use the K1 platform, which also underpins the standard Syros.

Globally, this platform is used for the Hyundai Inster EV, which comes with 42kWh and 49kWh battery packs.

The India-spec Syros EV is expected to use similar battery options.

The electric SUV will likely come with a front-wheel-drive setup.

Official range figures are not available yet, but the SUV is expected to offer enough driving range for daily city use and occasional highway trips.

Expected Price and Rivals

Kia is expected to price the Syros EV between Rs 15 lakh and Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).

This will place it directly against rivals like the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV 3XO EV.

The Syros EV was earlier expected to launch in early 2026, but the timeline now appears to have shifted by a few months.
