Mahindra is set to expand its XEV 9e electric SUV lineup with new configurations that offer a better mix of features and battery options. Launched in March 2025, the Mahindra XEV 9e currently comes in four trims: Pack One, Pack Two, Pack Three Select, and Pack Three. The first three trims are offered with a standard-range battery, while only the top-end Pack Three is available with a long-range option.
As per a leaked government certification document, Mahindra plans to offer the Pack Three Select variant with the long-range battery pack. This move will allow buyers to opt for maximum driving range without having to go for the range-topping Pack Three, which is priced at Rs 30.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
The document also suggests the company will introduce the Pack Three variant in a more affordable standard-range option. This will help customers who want all the premium features of the top-spec model but don’t need the longer range, saving them money in the process.
The standard-range variants of the Mahindra XEV 9e come with a 59 kWh LFP battery pack and a rear-mounted motor delivering 170 kW (228 hp) and 380 Nm of torque. This setup offers a certified range of 542 km on a full charge.
On the other hand, the long-range versions get a larger 79 kWh LFP battery and a more powerful 210 kW (282 hp) rear motor, enabling an impressive range of 656 km.
Currently, the standard-range Pack Three Select is priced at Rs 27.90 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Pack Three long-range sits at Rs 30.50 lakh. The upcoming configurations are expected to be priced between Rs 28-30 lakh, helping bridge the gap between the top two variants. Mahindra is likely to launch these new trims as early as July 2025.
