Renault has revealed the all-new Kwid EV in Brazil, where it is called the ‘Kwid E-Tech’. The new Renault Kwid EV has already been spotted testing several times in India. This suggests that the small EV is under consideration for our market. The Brazilian-spec model is priced at BRL 99,990 (Brazilian Real), which is around Rs 16 lakh.

The new Renault Kwid E-Tech is basically the re-badged version of the Dacia Spring EV. It has received subtle changes to give it a Renault-like face. This compact EV comes with a closed-off front grille, rocket-shaped daytime running lamps, and projector headlights.
The charging port is placed at the front, while the lower bumper has a pronounced black cladding. On the side, the small EV gets black plastic cladding on the wheel arches, ORVMs with integrated blinkers, black cladding placed lower on the doors, and new 14-inch dual-tone alloys.

The rear profile has uniquely styled tail-lights connected via a thick glossy finish bar that also houses the Renault Logo. There is a E KWID badge on the tailgate and a roof-integrated spoiler, while the pronounced bumper has strong cladding.

Inside the cabin, the small EV gets dual-tone scheme and a layered dashboard. It comes with a large free-standing 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, and a 7-inch digital driver’s display.
The e-shifter is placed on the console, while the AC vents are placed right below the infotainment and on either side of the dashboard. There are physical buttons for the AC and music system. The small EV has a boot space of 290-litres.
In terms of safety, the Renault Kwid E-Tech gets a LEVEL 1 ADAS tech with 11 features, six airbags, reverse camera, hill start assist, ABS, ESP (electronic stability control), speed limiter, TPMS, and others.

The new Renault Kwid E-Tech is equipped with a 26.8kWh battery pack with a front-axle mounted 64bhp, electric motor. It is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph acceleration in 4.1 seconds, and 0-100kmph in 14.6 seconds. The small EV offers a range of up to 265km on a single charge.
Using a 30kW DC charger, the battery can achieve 15-80 percent charging status in 40 minutes. The battery can achieve 15-80% charging status in 2 hours 54 minutes using a 7.4kW AC wallbox.
