Volkswagen has started road testing of the upcoming 3rd Gen Tiguan SUV as spy shots of the car arrives from foreign land. The photographs reveal some essential changes coming to the SUV and hint at the introduction of the Tiguan All-Space model. Market launch of the car is expected to take place in early 2024, with the car set for an end of 2023 unveiling.
The upcoming Volkswagen Tiguan SUV seems draws some design inspiration from other vehicles in Volkswagen’s stable like the ID.4 and the Golf. Despite changes to the exterior design, the four-wheeler looks similar to the current model. Key highlights of the exterior design include fiercer front-end design, characterised by a more prominent front grille, sleeker headlamps, large air intake with honeycomb pattern, functional air curtains at both ends. The tapered body lines along with slightly flared wheel arches complete the side profile. Towards the rear, changes are limited to a new set of LED tail lamps and a meaty bumper.
Moving to the inside, the cabin of the new SUV is expected to sport a tiny instrument cluster, similar to the one seen on the ID.4 along with a free-standing infotainment unit.

The Next-Gen Volkswagen Tiguan will most likely be underpinned by the MQB Evo platform, which is an evolution of the MQB A2 used in the current model.
Under the hood, the Tiguan SUV will feature a host of powertrain options including turbo petrol, mild hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and diesel. However, we expect the India spec Tiguan to continue with the familiar 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine producing a maximum power output of 190 bhp and a peak torque of 320 Nm.
