Nissan 7-Seater MPV and 5-Seater SUV Launching in 2026

Nissan India is planning to launch 3 new Utility Vehicles in the country by 2027. The company has already confirmed that it will launch a new entry-level MPV and a new 5-seater mid-sized SUV. Moreover, a 7-seater derivative of the mid-sized SUV will also arrive in our market in 2027.

The new Nissan B-MPV and C-SUV will be launched in 2026. In fact, pre-production of these two models has already been started at the Renault production plant in Chennai.

Nissan B-MPV

The new Nissan B-MPV will be based on the CMF-A+ platform, which is the modified version of the Kwid’s CMF-A platform. This MPV is basically the Nissan’s version of the Renault Triber, which is set to receive a mid-life update on July 23, 2025.

The new Nissan B-MPV will go on sale in the country in the first quarter of 2026. Nissan has already teased the new MPV, which appears significant different from the model it is based on. It will have an all-new front fascia housing a bigger Nissan grille, and a slim chrome strip connecting the new headlamp clusters. It is likely to get a new set of alloy wheels and sleek LED tail-lights.

The cabin of the Nissan MPV is expected to be shared with the Magnite compact SUV. It is likely to get an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an all-digital instrument console, push-button start/stop, and others. For safety and security, it is likely to get six airbags, ESC, a 360-degree surround view camera and TPMS.

The new MPV is likely to be powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine that produces 72hp and 96Nm of torque, paired to either a 5-speed manual or an AMT. The Nissan MPV could also get a 1.0L turbo petrol engine with a CVT option.

Nissan C-SUV

Rumoured to be called the Nissan Kait, the new 5-seater miod-sized SUV will take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara and others. It will be launched by mid-2026, around July-August. The new 5-seater SUV will be based on the Renault-Nissan Alliance’s CMF-B modular platform that underpins the third-generation Renault Duster.

The new Nissan SUV could be offered with multiple engine choices, including a 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol with manual and automatic gearbox choices. Nissan could also use the 1.5L NA petrol or a 1.0L 3-cylinder turbo petrol. The Japanese brand is also likely to launch the hybrid version of the Kait at a later stage.
